1. Required Documents Checklist

Before starting your online application on the Electricity New Connection (ENC) portal, prepare clear scanned copies (PDF or JPEG format, under 300 KB each) of the following mandatory documents:

Ownership / Premises Proof

Attested copy of property deed (Registry, Fard Malkiyat, Allotment Letter, or legal Rent Agreement with landlord CNIC).

CNIC & Witness Identification

Attested CNIC copy of applicant, plus copy of CNIC for two witnesses residing in the same sub-divisional area.

Neighbor's LESCO Bill Copy

Copy of a recent LESCO electricity bill from an immediate neighboring property to identify correct batch and sub-division codes.

Wiring Test Report

Wiring assessment test certificate completed and stamped by a licensed electrical wiring contractor.

2. Connection Categories & Sanctioned Load

LESCO classifies new connections into load categories established by NEPRA:

  • Category 1 (Up to 15 kW): Standard domestic residential connections (Single-Phase up to 5 kW, 3-Phase up to 15 kW). Processed at local SDO level. Learn how rates apply in our LESCO Tariff Slabs Guide.
  • Category 2 (16 kW to 70 kW): Large residential mansions, commercial shops, or small offices. Processed by Executive Engineer (XEN).
  • Category 3 (71 kW to 500 kW): Industrial factories, plazas, and bulk supply. Processed at Superintending Engineer (SE) circle level.

3. Demand Notice Issuance & Payment

Once your online application is submitted, print out the application form, attach physical document copies, and submit them to your local SDO office. A LESCO survey officer will inspect your site to assess transformer proximity and service line distance.

After site approval, LESCO issues a Demand Notice containing security deposits, meter equipment costs, and service drop cable fees. Pay the Demand Notice at any authorized bank branch. Keep the stamped bank receipt safe, as it serves as proof of payment during final meter installation.

4. What Is a LESCO Demand Notice & Demand Notice Fee

A LESCO Demand Notice is the official fee voucher generated after your new connection application passes site inspection. It is your payment instruction — once you pay this notice, LESCO schedules meter installation. The Demand Notice fee varies based on your connection category and sanctioned load.

Security Deposit (Refundable)

A refundable security deposit held by LESCO for the duration of the connection. The amount is based on your estimated average monthly consumption and sanctioned load. This deposit is returned upon permanent disconnection, minus any outstanding dues.

Meter Equipment Cost

Covers the cost of the electricity meter (single-phase or three-phase) and associated equipment. Three-phase and TOU (Time-of-Use) meters cost more than standard single-phase meters.

Service Line / Drop Cable

Charges for the physical cable connecting your premises to the nearest LESCO transformer or pole. The cost depends on the cable length and type (overhead or underground) required for your location.

Supervision & Miscellaneous

Includes LESCO's supervision fee for installation work and any miscellaneous administrative charges. These are standard amounts set by LESCO across all connection categories.

How to pay: Take the printed Demand Notice voucher to any designated commercial bank branch. The teller will process the payment and stamp both copies (bank and consumer). Keep your stamped receipt — you will need it when LESCO's installation team arrives. You can also learn about digital channels in our LESCO payment methods guide.

5. How to Track Your LESCO New Connection & Demand Notice Status

After submitting your new connection application on the ENC portal (enc.pitc.com.pk), you receive an Application ID (also called a Reference Number or Tracking ID). Use this ID to monitor progress at every stage — from initial submission through site inspection, demand notice generation, payment confirmation, and final meter installation.

1

Visit the ENC Portal

Go to enc.pitc.com.pk and look for the "Track Application" or "Application Status" option on the homepage.

2

Enter Your Application ID

Type in the Application ID or Reference Number that was assigned when your application was first submitted. Select LESCO as your distribution company if prompted.

3

Review Status & Timeline

The portal displays the current stage of your application: pending inspection, demand notice issued, payment received, or meter installation scheduled. Under NEPRA service standards, domestic single-phase connections should be completed within 30-45 days of Demand Notice payment.

!

If Status Is Not Updating

If the portal shows no progress beyond the expected timeline, visit your local LESCO Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office in person with your Application ID and payment receipt. You can also call the LESCO helpline at 118 for assistance, or file a formal LESCO complaint to escalate.
